Festival crowd outside Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral at Yiasou Greek Festival
I have been driving by this festival πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸŽ‰ -- since the 25th Annual event in 2003 -- while conducting my QCT Charlotte Daily City Toursm by Queen City Tours® and Travel. Although I have not officially been inside the gate, I have experienced the folks and fun πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸΎ while driving along East Boulevard on our tour route. From the crowds of festivalgoers strolling through the neighborhood to the sights, sounds, and tempting aromas of Greek cuisine filling the air πŸ₯™πŸ½οΈ, the celebration transforms this section of East Boulevard into one of Charlotte's liveliest cultural destinations each September. Parking near this festival is scarce πŸš—πŸ…ΏοΈ towards the end on Saturday and Sunday, so visitors should plan accordingly. The festival has grown geometrically in numbers since its inception in 1978 to an estimated 45,000 - 50,000 visitors per year, demonstrating its enduring popularity with Charlotte residents and visitors alike. πŸŒ†πŸŽŠ Ironically, you will run across plenty of good food πŸ₯™πŸ½οΈ, folks, music 🎢, dancing πŸ’ƒπŸΎ, and fun πŸŽ‰ at the Annual Yiasou (Hello) Greek Festival in Charlotte, but do not expect to run into too many Greeks. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸ˜‰ Whether you come for the food, cultural experience, entertainment, or simply the festive atmosphere, Yiasou has become a colorful September tradition in the Queen City. πŸ‘‘πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

Changing of the Guards πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸ’‚-

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸ’‚ The Changing of the Guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a popular tourist attraction that still takes place daily in front of the Hellenic Parliament Building at Syntagma Square in Athens. πŸ›οΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡· Come be part of the crowd and witness a reenactment featuring the carefully selected presidential guards known as Evzones.
